Valentines day holds the interests of many people but this year the 33rd Americas cup was won by BMW Oracle Racing. This is the first time an American Team has won the event since 1992 when America3 was all powerful in San Diego.

The margin of victory (some 5 minutes) was convincing and the event now moves forwards to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Yacht Club. The two statuesque yachts were perhaps somewhat extreme but then again Americas Cup Yacht Racing has always had that reputation and this year there was the inevitable forays into the law courts for various reasons.

At boatshedkent we do have our Americas Cup connections and two classic vessels are for sale at real ‘knockout’ prices. Here is a link for those who are looking to get a real racing machine and some ultimate credibility.

These pedigree racers offer a fantastic chance to get afloat and experience some real spine tingling sailing. Private buyers or those looking for charter business opportunities should look closely.

Of course, the boatshedkent connections with the Americas cup don’t stop with these yachts. BMW Oracle has a wing mast which has been attributed to the success of the campaign. At boatshedkent we also have a wingmast sailing vessel. This is a Zephyr 43’ which is available and for sale.

Clearly the Zephyr 43’ and the Americas cup racing machines are somewhat different but the technology has the same origins and all of the boats mentioned in this article are unique.
