This past weekend Oct 9th I was invited out for a sail on a Hunter 376 “Orion”. The season is winding down, yards are in full swing with haul – outs and winterizations. It ‘s hard to believe winter is around the corner with 80 degree temps we have had for the last few days, but it is coming fast. It was a fine day to be on the lake although the air was light, 5knts if that and seas relatively calm. Pictures of the shore line include the Milwaukee Art Museum a distinctively Santiago Calatrava design, tall ships at Discovery World and a view from up high of McKinley, Marina as I had my first opportunity to be hoisted up a mast to release a stuck halyard. It was a great photo op. Said to say we did remove the sails on Orion at the end of the day, getting her ready for winter storage.

Earlier in the week I provided support for the Conquer the Rhine paddling team set a new record for paddling across the Lake Michigan from the Point Beach State just north of Two Rivers to the Big Sable Park Light House just north of Ludington, 11hours 22 minutes.

Both events had great photo opportunities and I want to share Boatshed Lake Michigan home port of Milwaukee with you.
