Saturday 17th of April dawned on one of the most glorious days of the year so far. The 2010 JOG " Nab Tower Race" was due to start from the Gurnard buoy and the start line from the shore on the Isle of Wight.

There where 3 classes of yachts all milling around waiting for the start guns from 8.20am onwards. It was then a beat all the way down the Eastern Solent passing between the forts and then out to the Nab Tower. With the tide behind us we rounded the tower after about three and a half hours even with the light winds, reports Peter Delbridge of Boatshed Hamble who was out crewing onboard a friends Beneteau " Blustery Day".

It was then kites up and a quicker run back through the forts again with a few gybes along the way to keep us on our toes to the finish just past Cowes on the same line.

Perfect weather, good company, a quick yacht "It does not get much better than this, especially for April ! Sailing at its best.
