My three children have all been in boats from birth nearly, and they love it. Now I know that that would not suit everybody and I also know that my children are lucky to have a mother and father that love anything to do with boating.
Its seven o'clock in the morning on Saturday 14th of August and I am motoring down the Hamble River with four other friends, to head out into the middle of the Solent in the Boatshed Hamble Boston Whaler. What's strange about that you say ? well, we were heading for the Brambles bank, a sand bar that only shows its self on the lowest tides of the year and we were going to watch one of my favourite cricket matches.
When you are looking for a cruising boat there are certain features/equipment that you need to look for. Now is still a great time to take a couple of years out and go cruising and wait for the economy to recover.

Picture 1 This was the second year that Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle sponsored the Camano Rendezvous at Thetis Island, BC Canada. But it was the 18th year that the Trolls and Gnomes got together! We were very pleased by the great turn out! It was so nice to see returning rendezvous attendees and meet several new Camano owners!
When I was about 7 years old my parents built narrowboats and my job was to break up the concrete and re arrange in the narrowboats bilge for ballast. I remember working in any temperature and used to love getting as much concrete to fit in the gap as possible. Growing up with Narrowboats I’ve always had a love of the Inland Waterways, the people and the lifestyle, its a different world.
For those of you who love fast and furious water sports combined with a Rock Festival then Wakestock has got it all.
In March of this year and still amidst the very severe winter we experienced, my husband Steve and I had a conversation about whether it would be the right time to sell our beloved boat. She was our first sailing boat, the boat we pretty much learned ‘all the ropes’ so to speak and the boat we'd had since our children were considerably smaller. We are both qualified to Day Skipper standard now, but when we bought her we were considered novices, only having completed a couple of sailing holidays and I think our sailing experience was mostly with dinghies at that time.
The first time I stepped onboard a Sunseeker was at the London boat show hosted at Earls Court back years ago.
