Has your Yacht Broker seen the boat he is trying to sell you ?

Boatshed research shows the majority of Yacht Brokers in the market place have never stepped aboard many of the boats they are selling ?

Did you know Boatshed Yacht Brokers spend lots of time onboard each and every boat they list for sale?

Did you know Boatshed only sell second-hand boats and they know it is vital for their Yacht Brokers to have first hand knowledge of a boat they are selling.

Why do Boatshed Yacht Brokers visit each boat ?

We meet the owner of each boat on the boat, we spend time discussing the details so we can understand the boats history, what work and money has been spent on maintenance, what improvements and maintenance have been undertaken.

We record a standard set of inventory details.
We have a checklist that includes 296 questions about each boat;
Information and Details we record include:
Construction
Tankage
Accommodation
Masts and Sails
Canvas work
Deck Gear
Safety Equipment
Electrical
Mechanical
Hours of use of many items
Construction Dates
Usage history
Service Records and spare Parts
Maintenance
Operational status of many items.
Pricing
Contractual requirements.
Viewing Arrangements
Survey and Sea Trial Logistics
Ownership Transfer
VAT and CE legislation

We record up to 80 standard digital photographs of all aspects of the boat. Our Images are all taken from set certain angles and to include all the main areas of the vessel.
Our system will not allow boats to be uploaded unless all the correct photos are taken by the Boatshed Yacht Broker.
Our photos include lots of detail such as wiring, bilges, paintwork, electronics, lockers, upholstery, canvas work, windows, stanchion bases, outboards, carpets, fridge cookers. plus all the main areas such as cockpits, decks, interiors, and all the cabins.

We believe that a customer should be able to get a fully transparent picture of any second-hand boat prior to making the commitment to travel to go and physically view it.

It is our upfront approach to detail that has made Boatshed the largest Yacht Brokerage Group in the world in only 10 years operation.

We only get paid if we successfully sell a boat for one of our owners. If the owner sells the boat or another broker sells the boat then we charge nothing for our services.

Many Yacht Brokers sell boats they have not seen.
Boat buying customers need to understand the difference between a Yacht Brokerage Service that offers detailed direct knowledge of each boat for sale and a Yacht Brokerage Service that includes no direct knowledge of the boats they are selling.
Visiting each boat requires effort, resources and commitment. Surely the customer should be aware of what the choices are ?
