It’s May, sunshine in Pembrokeshire, some great sailing days with boat sales steady on their course and the world famous Fishguard Folk Festival in only ten days time!

Over the past ten years the seaport town of Fishguard has been host to one of the UK’s best small traditional music festivals. With concerts, dance displays, workshops, meet the artist events, busking, informal music and song sessions, the town will be filled with colourful displays of dancing, along with tunes, airs, jigs and reels. Also featuring the popular guided ‘Pirate and Smugglers’ walk. This small, friendly festival is mainly free, and embraces the talents of old and young alike and actively encourages visitors to join in the sessions with the ‘stars’ of the show, everyone is a part of the entertainment - not just a spectator.

Boatshed Wales Broker Alan Coy is this year's Festival Chair (man, person, thing?) and Mike, MD of Boatshed Wales, has kindly agreed (again) to sponsor us – thank you Mike!

Even Mike is looking forward to taking some time off the busy business of selling second hand boats of all types, from yachts to rubber dinghies and million pound motor cruisers to even the occasional minesweeper!. Whether we’ll persuade him to don a silly outfit and beard and sing a few shanties remains to be seen! Boatshed Wales Boats for Sale

Good weather is almost guaranteed as this year we got BBC Weatherman Derek Brockway to join a select band of Folkies from Fishguard at a small gig hosted by Planed, to kick off the Pembrokeshire festival season.
