This is likely the best example of a Najad 400 that you will encounter. Swedish built quality boat with centre cockpit and beautiful wood throughout.
As a blue-water sailor, timeless and very well maintained, this centre cockpit yacht has been built by Najadvarvet AB on Sweden's boat building island of Orust. Deep, sheltered centre cockpit with high cockpit edge and fixed windshield with side handrails. Wide walking decks allow safe movement on the deck.
Despite the modern design of Judel/Vrolijk's NAJAD 400, it has a traditional and reliable underwater hull with a deep bilge. A four-ton lead bomb in the keel gives the yacht a robust position at all times. The very stable, heavy rudder blade is suspended from a half-skeg in front of the shaft drive.
Inside, its matt lacquered mahogany interior is a beautiful testament to the excellent craftsmanship tradition of Swedish boat builders.
She features a 2 cabin layout with owner's cabin aft across the entire width of the yacht. On the port side there is a large galley in the longitudinal direction with sufficient storage space in the corridor to the aft cabin.
Special layout features of this Najad 400 are the central full size bed in the owner's cabin and the separate shower cabin in the fore ship on the port side.
The owner has equipped the yacht for long voyages: water-maker, wind generator, removable cutter stay, improved battery management and davits with an almost new dinghy and its outboard engine.
The underwater hull is treated with coppercoat and the paint was renewed in 2021. Until 2018, it was sailed exclusively in Northern Europe and until then she would be stored in a hall every winter.
